Our kids love for Dad to read to them every night before bed. Lately, we've been reading some of the old children's illustrated classics that have been around since Mom and Dad were kids. The kids can tell you all about The Call of the Wild, The Last of the Mohicans, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (including the names of the authors!). This week we finished reading Treasure Island, and our tradition is to watch a movie version of the book when we finish. To go all out with a complete multi-sensory experience, we made a little family trip to Long John Silver's for supper. (Long John Silver, the kids will tell you, was the cook for the voyage to Treasure Island.)
