Independence Day Parade
On July 4th, Amy fulfilled a life-long dream of driving a float in our little town's Independence Day Parade. Wilmore's own Crazy Chicken Lady pulled a chicken float with live chickens. The float was a hit, even though the weather was not.

Hoops
Dad and AJ set to play hoops at church wearing the jerseys of some of our favorite former Kentucky Wildcats - Demarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis.
(Dad may or may not have dislocated his pinky finger during the game. Okay, he definitely dislocated his pinky finger during the game.)

Camden Park
We snuck away over Memorial Day weekend for a little family time just across the West Virginia border. After a great night at a deeply discounted hotel suite, we spent Memorial Day at Camden Park, a small family-focused amusement park.

AJ Track
This Spring, AJ ran both Middle School and High School Track, in addition to Middle School Soccer. That's a busy schedule - for AJ and for Mom & Dad.
High School meets were a new challenge, competing against much older athletes. AJ ran the 4x800 relay and participated in the triple jump for the high school. At the Regionals, his relay team finished 6th and AJ finished 7th in the triple jump.
For the middle school, AJ ran the 400m and did the triple jump during the regular season. He was the conference champion in both events. At the middle school meet for the state of Kentucky, AJ placed 10th in the 800m run and 9th in the triple jump.

One Last OOVOTO
The end of the school year brings OOVOTO day at Wilmore Elementary School. (Our Own Version Of The Olympics) Everyone looks forward to OOVOTO day. The day starts with the procession of nations, just like the real Olympics.
Finally, it's Chloe's turn to carry the Ethiopian flag.

Graduation Season
It was a busy graduation week in the Kinnell family - first A.J. graduated from West Jessamine Middle School, then Essie & Chloe graduated from Wilmore Elementary. It'll be off to new experiences in the Fall, but first we celebrate and honor their achievements so far.

Essie & Chloe's Elementary Graduation
The graduation speaker was Essie's teacher's brother - former University of Kentucky basketball player (and Wilmore Elementary School alum) Jarrod Polson.
Chloe (blue dress at left) and Essie (pink dress at right) were both one of fifteen female nominees for the Citizenship Award.

At the end of the program, there was a slideshow that included baby pictures and current pictures for each of the graduating 5th graders.
